We are the Eastern Ontario Training Board.
We offer a variety of training and employment programs to help upskill our local workforce.
Our training programs are offered periodically and can run between 4 – 12 weeks.
We partner with employers from Cornwall and the Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, Prescott-Russell and Akwesasne. We select our training based on recommendations from local stakeholders. Information such as vacant positions, skills needed, education required, etc. is collected. We then help bridge these gaps by offering the recommended training to participants, and subsequently, these participants become employed by the employers.
We also provide incentives to the employers, such as wage subsidies. This way, participants can train in a sector where a need has been identified and have opportunities for employment after having completed the training.
The criteria to participate in our training and employment programs is determined by our funding providers.
Eligible program participants are typically unemployed/under-employed job-seekers who are experiencing barriers to employment such as age, sex, disability and/or identifying as an individual who is part of the visible minority population. Candidates are referred by our employment service providers.
All training programs are delivered by Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development approved training institutions. Check out our available training programs below. Contact us with any questions you might have.
